With the rise of Big Data Analytics, Sears Holdings adopted big data techniques in order to further reach out to customers. In 2012 sears made the shift to the system of Apache Hadoop, a high scale open source data processing platform which is known for its ultra-high scalability and low cost compared with relational databases. This system was meant to be able to process more data on a weekly basis in order to target customers in a more individualized manner. The data collected by Hadoop is used to further the companies understanding customer needs, service trends, and warranty problems. 
With the current state of Sears Holdings CO. management is doing everything possible to reach their customers and restore its brand. Sears will need to continue to use information systems in order figure out how they must meet consumer needs. 
Sears also uses programs such as ISO 9001. ISO 9001 is a cost saving program that has provided service to Sear’s customers in areas where no technicians are available. Considering that one of Sears most valuable current assets is their home services, this program is very beneficial to keeping the company afloat. 
As Sears Holdings continues to battle their bankruptcy, management has begun seeking outside creditors in order to keep their stores operational. The information systems they have in place will assist them as they reorganize and continue to seek help from creditors.
